Stout (1958- ), a former employee of Crucible Steel in Midland, Pennsylvania, discussed what it was like to work in the steel mill in the blast furnace in 1978, when he was laid off in 1981, going to school at the Pittsburgh Institute for Aeronautics (PIA), and relocating to Atlanta to work for Lockheed Georgia. He reflected on the effects Crucible closing had on the area and if the area will see as much prosperity again.
